Sean gets called to the hospital because a friend of his has been in a serious accident. He has a rough day wondering if his friend will pull through. He does, but barely, and not without some serious repercussions.
Sean and I have a serious -- and at times painful -- discussion about budget concerns and a variety of other topics. When the dust settles, we're still friends and have perhaps gained some new insight into each other. Since part of our misunderstanding last week was over the placement of the decorative tiles, over the weekend I created a Visio diagram to specify the exact placement and orientation of the decorative tiles.
Tiling up a storm...
The theme for this week is tile, tile, tile. Sean is pretty sure it will be done by the end of the week. I'm hoping for sooner! By days end Tuesday, I'm starting to be able to visualize the entire bathroom. It's going to be cool!
Here's a closeup of the first decorative tile to get installed.
Late Tuesday evening, I realize that we have already deviated from my tile plan... so I go back to the sticker method of placing tiles. This time I get out my tape measure and place the stickers exactly where I want the deco tiles.
Not much to say... just more tile
More of the same... but to make it interesting, here's a different camera angle!
Sean also starting demolition on the backsplash. Unfortunately, the back part of it wants to bring the mirror down with it... so we had to go to plan B. This will involve tiling over the existing backspash.
By Friday, we're only half way done with the tile. Unfortunately, this will have to lead to another budget talk on Monday.
Sean prepares for tiling the backsplash.
