Bathroom Vinyl is installed

After hours of agonizing, I finally settled on a bathroom vinyl, and Cole's Carpet installed it on June 18th. First they laid a new subfloor over the existing vinyl. The installer either cut the flooring to the wrong dimensions, or didn't bring enough to start with -- but this step required a return trip to the store to get additional material.

It took them hours to get to the actual vinyl installation... and moments before he was about to glue the vinyl down, I discovered he had brought the wrong vinyl. So -- another trip and another hour later, he was finally back with the correct vinyl.

All the extra trips back to the store made me about 2 hours late to a lunch appointment, so I didn't even take the time to notice that there was a bubble in the vinyl and he had used a peach colored caulk at the base of the tub. I called them out again the next day to repair the vinyl and replace the caulk. He swears the caulk is ivory, not peach... and gives me a choice of white, ivory or clear... so I decided to replace it myself later. After those few hours of angst though, I ended up with a vinyl floor that I like.

Lots of sealer!

After allowing many days for the sealer that Sean had applied to the new shower enclosure to dry, I finally took my first shower in it... only to discover that the grout was just soaking up the water. I talked to some nice lady at Home Depot (who hopefully knew more than I do about this stuff) and she said you should really apply multiple coats of sealer... that basically you continue to apply it until it stops absorbing sealer. So, I spent several days getting high on grout sealer. Here's a shot with fresh sealer on part of the wall. The dark lines show how much it's still absorbing!
