George builds a nightstand

George is taking two woodworking classes at Palomar. He's building a clock in one of them and a nightstand in the other.
Here's the side panels for the nightstand... just before glue up... and during glue up. George oil finished the panels before assembly so that as the panels contract and expand with the moisture in the air there are no unfinished parts showing.

Here's the carcass... it's not glued up yet, but it's looking great!

The carcass glue up was exciting!

Here's some close-ups of the carcass and the joinery.

The glue-up for the drawer was even more exciting than the carcass!

Here George displays his work at the awards banquet at Palomar. Each year they host a banquet where students show off their work. There was some truly amazing pieces of furniture there this year.
